The latest round of the OMG Tour was a day of contrasts under clear skies, where personal bests shone through despite some challenging moments on the course. While the weather held up beautifully, not all was sunny for our competitors, with drama unfolding that would impact the standings and spirits alike.
Ethan Eads
Ethan Eads was the star of the day! Ethan seized his moment to shine, shooting the best score of his OMG Tour career and clinching 10 vital points to guarantee his championship contention. Cody Malcom also secured his spot for championship contention by snagging one win on the day keeping him in 5th place in league standings.
Steve Shutts, Aaron Hall, Skyler Henson, & Blake Moore
The second group faced their share of turmoil. Skyler Henson unexpectedly packed up his clubs and withdrew after just 10 holes, leaving the field stunned. The tension escalated when Steve, caught in the heat of the moment, had a heated exchange with the course marshal. Steve expressed his frustration over the course conditions, suggesting they were more suited to livestock than championship golf! Despite the fireworks, Steve walked away with 10 points to jump from outside the cut line to a very comfortable spot going into the last round before the championship! Blake Moore also had himself a day snagging 7 points and securing a place in the league finale.
Lucas Morrison, Jorden Henson, Tud Gold, & Cody Malcom
Amid the day’s upheavals, Tud remained focused and composed, scoring 8 points to edge closer to the coveted Regular Season league title. His stellar performance has put him in a prime position to be within 2 points of Derek Malcoms lead! Will it all come down to a match between Derek and Tud to decide who the regular season champion is!?
Kevin Scharf, Ethan Eads, & Derek Malcom
With only one regular season event remaining on September 29th, the tension is palpable. The top 12 golfers will soon head to Pointe Royale in Branson, where they will compete for four spots in a climactic 9-hole matchplay tournament, marking the pinnacle of the season.
