Scott Perryman
Ozark Mountain Golf traveled to Marshfield, MO to take on their Whispering Oaks Golf Course for the final event of the year. The course was in great condition and the weather happened to be absolutely amazing! The early morning dew felt non existent as the greens were rolling unbelievably fast throughout the day, but our golfers prevailed! So much happened in the regular season finale and the regular season champion was crowned!!
Landen Metcalf
Landen Metcalf and Scott Perryman both entered this event as the only two golfers outside of the top 12 who still had a chance to qualify. Down 6 points each to start they day, they had to capture two wins each to make the jump. With no room for error, both golfers did exactly what they needed! Landen left no doubts as he won his first two matches of the day and tied his last one to make sure that there was no questioning whether he belonged. Scott had a much tougher road as he had to face Derek, Tud, and Steve. Not folding under pressure after a rocky start and securing wins in the second and final matches of the day, Scott was able to also make the most of the day becoming qualifier against the odds!
Scott Perryman, Steve Shutts, Tanner Gold & Derek Malcom
Before todays event only 7 OMG members had punched their tickets to qualify for the Championships, but today ended regular season play and solidified who will be competing for the trophy! Steve Shutts and Jorden Henson finally made the big push to take the pressure off their shoulders. Steve played a solid round but was against the top two golfers in the league and found himself falling short of match play wins. Jorden went on to gather one win, one loss, and one tie on the day giving himself a little bit of confidence going into champions weekend. Aaron Hall and Kevin Scharf also qualified as it was too close for comfort. Hall and Scharf both missed this event and with Metcalf and Scott Perryman making the huge jumps, tensions had to be high from the sidelines.
Regular Season Champion: Derek Malcom
Derek Malcom came into this event looking to keep ahold of his first place spot as he was pitted against Tud Gold, who was only two points behind him for first. Derek had beat Tud twice already in the regular season, so confidence levels were high. They were slated to compete agaisnt each other in the third match of the morning for their group, however Derek claimed the crown before Tud could get the chance for revenge. Derek won all three of his matches to claim the elusive 10 piece nug and to solidify himself as the Regular Season Champion!
